The best features of wood without any of the hassles: fiber cement siding has a class 1A fire rating, is impervious to wood boring insects, will not rot, and has superior paint adhesion. It also comes with a 50 year warranty from the manufacturer and is available primed or pre-finished. The installation methods are the same as for wood siding, and the cost is comparable.

Custom trim details are the perfect accents to your home’s exterior. We have many books with period styles & details illustrated to help you with your selections. Composite trim is available so your entire home exterior can be wood-free. All trim is installed with a minimum of electro-galvanized nails. We also have stainless steel available. Nails are counter-sunk so the holes can be filled & painted, hiding the nails from sight. Trim details include window & door trim, water tables, freeze boards, crown molding, soffitts & fascias, light & outlet blocks, & columns.

Fiber cement soffitts are available in smooth & cedar grain finishes to cover those unsightly overhangs, and give the home a finished look. Soffitts are available in widths up to 24” wide, & come in solid & vented styles.

Fiber cement siding is available in exposures from 4” all the way to 12”. Smooth, cedar grained, & beaded styles are also available.

The installation process is the same as for wood & vinyl siding. A weather barrier of your choice is installed over the sheeting. This prevents water from entering the home. Trim is installed over the weather barrier. Flashing is installed on the window, door, light & electrical trim tops to keep water from running behind the trim. The final step is the siding installation. The siding butts to the trim details & is caulked at all extrusions to prevent water entering the structure. The siding is blind nailed to keep the surface free from nail heads showing. The exception to this is under windows, doors & the final row of siding, which must be face nailed to secure that siding to the wall. All siding is secured with a minimum of electro-galvanized ring-shanked nails. Stainless steel is also available.
