Specializing
in shingle style homes we have an endless array of combinations
to create a unique look for your home. We also have several
books with period styles & details illustrated to help
with your selections.
A
weather barrier of your choice is applied under all wood
siding applications to keep moisture from entering the home.
This in conjunction with metal flashing on window, door,
& other decorative trim helps your homes exterior to
shed moisture.
Trim
is the next detail on the house. All trim is installed before
the siding & the siding in turn butts to the trim. Trim
details include windows, doors, water tables, freeze details,
crown molding, & columns. We have several species &
grades of lumber to accommodate any budget. All trim is
secured with a minimum of electro galvanized nails. We also
have stainless steel available. Nails are counter sunk so
the holes can be filled & painted.
Siding
installation is the final step. Siding is installed from
the bottom up to shed water. In the event of wood shingles
being used with a woven corner no trim boards will be used
on the inside & outside corners. Just around windows,
doors, water tables, & freeze details. Most all siding
is blind nailed. This means that the nails are not visible
to the eye. The exceptions being under windows, doors &
the final row of siding. Which have to be face nailed to
keep the siding secure on the wall. All siding is secured
with a minimum of electro galvanized ring shanked nails.
We also have stainless steel available.
Some
wood siding & trim may have a two week lead time due
to product availability, & custom milling.
